Three Starting Photographer Worries...

The following are a few I hear from other photographers. I use to think some of these myself...

I Don't Have Time...

This is one of the most common excuses I hear. The problem isn't one of time, the problem is comfortable timing. Sure we all have jobs, chores, and other things we have to do. The fact of the matter is we're not doing these things 24-7. There's a time at night when you choose between sleeping or staying up. Pick a night and stay up. In the mornings we can hit snooze and sleep and extra 10-20 minutes or you could make the choice to get up early, find some neat views on the way to work, and capture them. Having a lazy Saturday? Don't want to move from your couch? Grab your camera and move anyway!

Use your free time! Make photography a priority if you want it to be one.

I Can't...

Maybe the two most disabling words in the english language. The fact of the matter is that you can, you just choose to use an excuse rather than get out of your comfort zone. There are very few limiting factors that will stop you from doing something you really want to do. If you don't know how, Learn! Try until you can. As my grandmother always said "can't never could..."

Try before you can't!

It's Not Ready...

If it's truly not ready then it's not ready, but sometimes artist over work their work. I'm guilty, you're guilty, we're all guilty. Sometimes you have to know when to throw in the towel and call it finished. Even if you spot a mistake later then there is still time to fix it in this digital world we live in.

Be a perfectionist! But know when you're finished. Even if you see something you don't like in your photograph 95% of the time you're going to be the only one that notices. You can always find an art minded friend to take a look over your work as well. I use to do this before I uploaded anything for people to see. I finely stopped second guessing myself and gained confidence in my work.

Gain some confidence and show off your work!
